Ray Byrns
Assistant Coach

Ray Byrns is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Yellowjacket men's basketball team. Prior to UW-Superior, Byrns was an assistant coach with Brian Jensen and the Black River Falls (Wis.) freshman basketball team.

As a player, Byrns began his collegiate career at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. As a sophomore, Byrns averaged 25 minutes per game, scoring an average of nine points and pulling down an average of three rebounds per contest. Following his second year, he was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year. In 2007, Byrns transfered to UW-Superior where, as a junior, he averaged 20 minutes per game and averaged 7.6 points per game. In total, Byrns played 102 college basketball games and accumulated over 700 points.

Byrns graduated from UW-Superior in 2009 with a bachelors degree in wellness and fitness management and a minor in sports management.
